Easter in Anchorage!

The last couple of weeks have been busy ones, but this was a nice weekend -- Alex was here visiting us and stayed through Easter, leaving tonight late.  Brian and Alex were able to spend lots of time together, hiking on Thursday and Friday (and seeing 7 moose!), going to Prince William Sound and seeing the boat that's waiting for more fixing before it goes in the water.  They wanted to Al and the moose in the same picture frame to prove he was there!

Hiking along Turnagain Arm (they went back to McHugh Peak trail, where Brian and Judy hiked two weeks ago), is also a great place to see the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet!

Saturday they rented fat tire bikes and went biking in that last 3+ inch snowstorm that put us up over the all time total for a year -- most snow since 1954-55!  They said it was fun!

And on Easter Sunday, more hiking, this time from Glen Alps.  Beautiful sunny day!

After the hiking, we all got cleaned up and Al got packed up and we drove down to Girdwood to the Alyeska Ski Resort and took the tram up to Seven Glaciers Restaurant for Easter dinner - we should have taken pictures of the dinner - it was really good - but we did take pictures of the tram and the view!  We also saw several Dall sheep on the way down and pulled over to take pictures - but with an IPhone, so you're going to have to really look for the little white animal in the middle of the picture!

Unfortunately we had to drop Al at the airport on the way back - he'll be flying all night and arriving into Syracuse tomorrow at 2 pm Eastern time.  It was great to see him!
